Follow the following recommendation
when removing your drive:
- Turn off the power supply and remove peripheral cables
from PC
- Remove case fixing screws from your tower.
- Remove case cover carefully
- Identify hard-drive and disconnect the IDE ribbon (connection)
- Remove power lead
- Remove fixing screws and take out the drive
- Pack your drive in an antistatic bag and cover it with
bubble rap then place it inside of a shipping cardboard
box. We recommend shipping your properly labeled package
with a reliable carrier.
Protect your data by doing the following:
- Stop using the compromised system
- Turn off physically damaged equipment
- Do not attend to recover the lost data without technical
support
- Do not run any data recovery programs
- Do not change your system configuration in any way
- Do not open the drive or expose the hard drive to the
environment
- Do not activate any data back up function (tapes/cartridges/disks)
